Hockey Canada Safety Person (HCSP)

The Risk Manager, also known as the Hockey Canada Safety Person (HCSP), helps keep players, coaches, and volunteers safe at all Burnaby Female Ice Hockey Association (BFIHA) events. Risk Managers work closely with coaches, Team Manager, and parents to implement emergency procedures, manage player medical information, and make sure Hockey Canada, PCAHA, BC Hockey, and BFIHA safety guidelines are followed.

Every BFIHA team must have a certified Risk Manager (Hockey Canada Safety Person). This vital volunteer role ensures our players are safe on and off the ice. Training is provided online through Hockey Canada, and costs are covered by BFIHA. If you’re interested in becoming an HCSP please contact your Division Manager and register for any required clinics.
