Why Be a Coach
Being a coach with Burnaby Female Ice Hockey Association is about fostering a positive, inclusive environment where young women can develop their hockey skills and personal growth while building lasting friendships.
The impact extends beyond the ice, influencing their character, teamwork, and self-esteem. Coaches play a crucial role in shaping not just hockey players, but also young women who are confident, resilient, and equipped to excel in all aspects of life.
The Head Coach, The Assistant Coach
The head coach is responsible for overseeing the entire team, developing game strategies, planning practices, making important game-time decisions, and serving as the primary leader and motivator for the players.
The assistant coach supports the head coach by helping run practices, offering individual instruction, focusing on specific skills or positions, and providing feedback to players.
